services
what I actually do
Ten services across four stages: getting it built, keeping it running, getting it found, and looking after the people using it.
build
getting the thing made
WordPress Design
01Most WordPress sites are a bought theme with somebody else's logo swapped out. Yours gets designed around what you actually need to say, and built so that changing it afterwards does not mean ringing me.
- Custom design, not a bought theme reskinned
- Custom post types and ACF Pro, so editors fill in labelled fields
- Elementor where it earns its place, hand-built templates where it does not
- WooCommerce stores, including trade and retail pricing

Custom Development
02When off-the-shelf software nearly fits but not quite, a purpose-built application usually costs less than living with the workarounds.
- Intranets, portals, booking, quoting and dispatch systems
- Bespoke PHP and MySQL, built to run on ordinary hosting with nothing exotic to keep alive
- Single sign-on against Microsoft Entra ID, and a staff list that keeps itself current from your own directory overnight
- Talks to what you already run: Microsoft 365, Outlook calendars, the phone system, the software the work is already in
- Touchscreens, fob readers and door controllers, where the job needs hardware as well as software
- Replaces the spreadsheet or the paper book it grew out of, with what is in them brought across
host & maintain
keeping it up, patched and backed up
Managed WordPress
03Updates, backups and security handled on a schedule, rather than the week after something goes wrong. Changes get tried on a staging copy first, so the live site is never the experiment.
- Core, theme and plugin updates applied and checked
- Daily off-site backups, with tested restores
- Malware scanning and firewall
- A staging site for changes before they go live

Maintenance & Support
04The work nobody notices until it has not been done. Updates tested before they go live, monitoring that tells me before it tells you, and a monthly note saying what actually happened.
- Scheduled updates and compatibility testing
- Uptime and performance monitoring
- A monthly report: what was updated, what broke and what was fixed
- Included hours for small content changes

Web & Email Hosting
05UK hosting for websites and mailboxes, with a person on the end of it. When email stops on a Friday afternoon you are speaking to whoever set it up, not filing a ticket and waiting.
- UK data centres, SSL included
- Daily backups retained off-site
- Email hosting, or migration to Microsoft 365
- A person to call, not a ticket queue

Domain Names
06Domains in one place, renewed before they lapse rather than after. SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up properly, which is the difference between your email arriving and your email landing in spam.
- Registration, renewal and transfers
- DNS management and record changes
- Domain privacy and auto-renewal
- Email records checked when a mailbox moves, so sending does not break with it

Cloud Servers & VPS
07For when shared hosting has run out of room. Specified for the workload you have rather than the biggest number on a pricing page, then patched and monitored without you having to ask.
- Specified, provisioned and configured for the workload
- Managed patching and monitoring
- Backup and disaster recovery planning
- Scale up without a migration
grow
getting found, and getting enquiries
Search Engine Optimisation
08No promises about ranking first, because nobody can honestly make them. Fixing what is technically wrong, building pages around the words people type into Google, and reporting in enquiries rather than positions.
- Technical audit: speed, indexing, structured data
- Page structure that matches what people actually search for
- Local SEO for Surrey and Hampshire searches
- Reporting against enquiries, not vanity rankings

PPC & Paid Advertising
09The quickest way to find out whether people want what you are selling. Run to a cost per enquiry agreed up front, inside a budget you set, with the tracking in place to tell you whether it worked.
- Campaign setup, keywords and negative keywords
- Landing pages built to match the ad
- Conversion tracking that ties spend to enquiries
- Monthly management within a clear budget
support
the people side, when something breaks
IT Support & Consultancy
10The person who built your website also knows why the printer has stopped talking to the network. Delivered alongside MFC IT Services, who I have worked with for more than six years.
- Day-to-day support for your staff, by phone or at the desk, with the fault fixed rather than logged
- Microsoft 365 run properly: mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, licences, and the settings nobody looks at until they matter
- Devices set up, enrolled and kept patched, from a new starter's laptop to the machine that has been in the corner since 2015
- Networks, firewalls and wireless specified, installed and then monitored rather than forgotten
- Backups tested by restoring them, and a plan for the day you need one
- Moves, upgrades and migrations planned around your working week rather than through it
not sure which?
Most enquiries do not arrive neatly categorised. "Our website is slow and we cannot edit it and half the staff cannot get their email on their phone" is a perfectly normal first message.
Send that, and I will tell you what I think the real problem is.
